Bill awoke hours later, unsure when he had even fallen asleep. He was curled up in David's arms, the vampire lying still next to him, not breathing. Of course, he didn't think David normally breathed anyway, but it was all too obvious now that he was sleeping. Bill hoped he was sleeping, at least, and not…dead.
He stayed there, laying in David's arms for a good twenty minutes as he woke up, enjoying the feel of being held as long as he could. Alas, bodily functions spurred him from their small nest, forcing him to disentangle himself slowly, taking care to try not to wake David as he headed for the bathroom.
Once he had finished washing his hands, he ran his fingers through his long hair, pleased that it hadn't dried all crinkly and wavy as it sometimes had the tendency to do. Feeling a bit vulnerable walking around in his birthday suit, he carefully went out into the living room, making doubly sure that he had rearranged the curtains to cover David's bedroom door again.
Now that he was dressed, however, he was in quite a bit of a dilemma. He really did want to go back to curl up with David, but he didn't know how long the vampire's sleep would last. Instead, he went to the kitchen, digging around in search of any type of food; true to his word, however, the cabinets were empty, the fridge only stocked with blood.
He shut the fridge quickly, not wanting to think about the reason the bags were in there too much. David was a vampire, true…but seeing a vampire feed still made his stomach churn in uneasiness, even after a year. It was only in the past few months that he had truly begun to like being fed from, and he was still getting used to that ideology, even. To think that he actually wanted something like that…almost craved it, really.
Or maybe it was the vampires he met that made him feel comfortable with giving blood so easily. Emil, for one…he made Bill feel at easy about the process (except that one time when Lamar watched them). David, too, for completely different reasons that made his stomach flutter pleasantly. He was old enough to know when he was attracted to someone, and he knew without a doubt that he was attracted to David. Pursuing anything other than casual, though…he wasn't sure how he felt about that--or if David wanted that, for that matter.
A glance at his cell phone, battery worn down and almost dead, revealed that it was afternoon. Not yet time for the sun to set, but possibly early enough for David to wake up. It was strange, as Emil had said that he didn't need very much sleep at all. Or it could be hours before David awoke.
Bill sighed as he began to browse all of David's video games in hope of killing time. He wasn't particularly hungry to begin with, and a quick inventory of his wallet revealed that delivery was out of the question, no matter what he had told David before. But he didn't want to just leave to go grab something and leave the front door unlocked; nor did he want to lock it behind him and not have a way to get in. The thought of taking David's keys with him only to have the vampire wake up and wonder didn't sound like an appealing thought, either.
So he continued to browse the video games, seeing titles he knew as well as many he didn't. He itched to play some of them, but did not know if, like his brother's, the consoles were off limits or not. Being unintrusive really was a bother, he thought with a frown. Perhaps he should go back and curl up with David again. The thought did sound appealing, he had to admit.
